What For Keeps means
When a player knocks a target out under the agreed rules, that player keeps it after the match. A friendly game returns all marbles instead.
Make the agreement clear
Every player should understand the rule before contributing marbles. Set aside valuable, rare or sentimental marbles and use ordinary targets.
Keep the game fair
Use target marbles of similar size and condition. Choose one referee for disputed boundary calls, or replay the shot when nobody has a clear view.
Children should ask a parent or guardian before playing for keeps.
